This iconic and rare vintage Omega Flightmaster, reference 145.013, first series from the early 70′ is in excellent overall condition. Has a handwinding Omega caliber 910 built in. Designed for use by pilots the original dial (with chronograph and independant GMT function) is in perfect condition and shows a beautiful tropical brown patination on subdials, has orange and blue hands, all original Tritium. The Flightmaster line was introduced in 1969 made by Omega SA between 1969 and 1972 in limited quantities. It was the first Omega with a movement designed with the timing needs of pilots in mind. The first version of the watch replaced the running seconds sub-register typically found at 9 o’clock in chronographs with a AM/PM indicator. Omega also added a rocket-shaped blue GMT hand for tracing the time in two separate time zones. The wearer was also given two methods of timing: a 12-hour chronograph, as well as a 60-minute inner elapsed-time rotating bezel.
Case is unpolished and in perfect condition for it’s age with only litte signs of use. Coming on it’s original bracelet, there is notable stretch but with plenty of life left. An extract of the Omega archives could be delivered upon customers request. Watch is running perfectly with high amplitude and accuracy. Just gave it to my watchmaker to check/change gaskets.
