Rolex Sea-Dweller 16660 MKII Box, papers, Rolex service

One of the most under estimated Rolex diver watches, a beautiful Rolex Sea-Dweller 16660, Triple Six from 1984 with SN: 8417xxx and amazing MK II dial. I am proud and happy to offer this amazing piece, after I let my 16660 with MKI dial go to a very kind and discerning collector.

As the successor of the famous and well known Sea Dweller 1665, often called as a transitional reference, this was the first Rolex divers watch to have a sapphire crystal installed and offers a diving depth rating of 4000ft. As a tool watch for deep sea divers, this was obviously a practical and impressive feature. The improved water depth rating was thanks in part to a larger helium escape valve (HEV). Also having the new movement Caliber 3035 installed, which replaced the Caliber 1575 of the previous Sea-Dweller. I do really have a crush on this reference.

This Triple Six has flawless Mark II matte dial, with all lume plots fully intact and color matching hands, both turned into a creamy even yellow tone. Case might have been polished in the past, but with thick an even lugs and beveled edges visibile and only minor signs of previous use.

The best comes last, this 16660 has original punched papers (country code 505!!!), first sold on May 23, 1985 though Afghan Watch Co. Bara in Afghanistan and box with 16660 sticker on. Has a 83160 bracelet with matching 592 endlinks in very good condition with clasp code H dating it to 1983, obvoiusly this bracelet came with the watch when it was first sold in 1985..

To keep my promise for wearable Vintage watches, I’ve just sent it to my Rolex AD to perform a full Rolex movement service and cleaning to bring it back to perfect running COSC condition. UPDATE: watch is back from movement service and is now running better, than ever. Rolex Service card and exchanged parts are coming with the watch.

Watch is delivered with it’s original double box with outside 16660 sticker on, punched papers, your Rolex Oyster manual and Rolex service guarantee, dated January 31st. 2020, valid for two full years. Exchanged parts of the service will also be given to the customer.

Verdict: An amazing Triple Six with Mark II dial, one of the best 16660 I’ve seen so far (besides my previous MKI), plus this one has it’s original papers and a recent Rolex service. Ready to wear or just to collect and put away and now comletely serviced with exchanged parts delivered with the watch!!! This is definitly not a piece I have to sell necessarily.
