A rare Dato-Compax from Universal Geneve, Ref. 12496 in solid 18 kt pink gold, with all original parts, with the big date display at 12 o’clock this is one of the rarest UG.
Case in 35mm excluding the crown (37,5mm with crown) with no hits or marks, with bevels still crisp! Original, patinated, glazed yellow gold dial, with four odd straight bar indexes and four even applied ones with small balls, made of pink gold. Original rose gold hour and minute hands.
Original signed crown and pushers. Plating under one of the pushers has peeled a bit off.
Calibre 285 has been completely serviced in 2020, runs with a very high amplitude, above 300 keeping time very accurately. Chronograph starts, stops and resets perfectly.
Finding an all original 40s Universal Geneve chronograph and especially a pink gold Dato– Compax is a true challenge nowdays.
